We wrapped up another 2018 Specialty Coffee Expo show in Seattle and have a lot of thank yous and shout outs to cover.
Let’s get started!
First and foremost, a hearty thanks to all those who stopped by our booth to say hello and catch up on all the exciting things going on at PBi. We were thrilled to have our new Biotre 2.0 receive the honorable mention award for 2018 Best New Product for Packaging! We look forward to sharng the next iteration of Biotre® iteration with you over the coming months.
We were proud sponsors of the Design Lab for Packaging again this year and enjoyed seeing the incredible designs that were submitted. We really encourage you to submit your designs to the Design Lab Team next year. It’s a great way to show off your final product. The turnout was great this year and we would love to see even more new and unique designs at next year’s show.
Also, a big shout out to one of our customers, Elixr Coffee, for winning the 2018 Design Lab Competition for Coffee Packaging! Elixr had a busy show also taking Second Place at the US Barista Championship. Congratulations to T. Ben Fischer and the rest of the crew at Elixr Coffee.
I would also like to say thank you to those unsung volunteers that help put on a great show. We work closely with the SCA and know the event would not be able to happen without their great team. We were proud to have four new product judges and can’t say enough at how well Paula Berman and her team does to put together the judging program.
Our CEO, Mark Howley presented “A Life in Coffee” on Friday morning. There packed room was full of laughs as Mark spoke about market evolution, small business survival, and perseverance.
On Saturday, PBi supported the International Women’s Coffee Alliance in celebrating the organization’s 15th anniversary at their Annual IWCA Breakfast. It was great to be able to interact with four different presenters led by IWCA chapter members from around the world.
Finally, I would like to say thanks to our PBi employees who worked in our booth, fanned out over the show floor, volunteered to be judges and overall represented PBi. I work with some amazing people and they make me proud every single day. It was great to see everyone have some fun and enjoy the show. We’re excited to head to Boston for SCA 2019!
For those with an international flair, please come join us at the Word of Coffee Expo in Amsterdam, June 21st – 23rd. We will be joining the great folks at WEBER Packaging GmbH – our exclusive distributor to the European market. Hope to see you there.
