Hosting the largest number of micro-breweries within the city limits, and 32 dormant cinder cones, known as the Boring Lava Field, Portland is a happening town and a perfect spot for this year’s SCAA show.
The 24th Annual Specialty Coffee Association of America show took place April 20-22nd at the Portland Convention Center, where rumor has it that the lava fields generated an invisible force field that ran interference with the centers Wi-Fi.
It was a great show with a tremendous energy that speaks well of the industry and it was nice to see customers, meet new ones, and talk about our favorite subject…packaging.
The Biotre Success
PBi continued to build momentum from our award at Coffee Fest New York. At this year’s SCAA, Biotre took first place in Best New Product - Packaging! If you haven’t seen the blogs or videos yet on Biotre, check them out—it is the real deal and we are proud of our efforts to develop and launch this new product for the coffee industry.
Biotre is a barrier bag with a low oxygen transmission rate, giving your coffee significant protection and it will biodegrade. For more information, visit the Biotre section of our website.
Look for an expansion of the Biotre line in the coming this fall.
