April 13, 2013 marked one year since PBi lost one of our own to Pancreatic Cancer (Lisa Roberts passed away at the age of 44).
Lisa was one of a kind, with a strength of spirit, and self-confidence that most of us only hope to achieve. She was comfortable in her own skin, and that confidence made her a challenge to work with at times.
In looking back, it makes us all miss her that much more. She left an impact on all of us, and her passing was instrumental in PBI starting the Bags With a Conscience program in 2012.
The Bags With a Conscience program started in October of 2012 and involves PBI donating a percentage of the sales revenue generated from specific items in our product line to three different charities:
- The National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc.
- The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
- Homeward Pet Adoption Center
By the end of April, I am happy to say that PBI will have donated over $3,600.00 to these three charities. I think Lisa would be proud.
