Our previous two blog entries have covered stock packaging and the stock packaging customization process for pet treat bags. In this final entry we will discuss custom printed pet treat bags and rollstock.
For those customers who are looking to take their pet food and pet treat packaging to the next level, PBi offers short run gravure printed custom printed bags and pouches.
Gravure printing provides for incredibly clear and crisp custom graphics that allow your packaging to stand out on the shelf. We have stock and custom laminations for almost all types of pet treats from baked dried products to moist and semi-moist treats.
Custom sizes start from several grams to 10lb and larger pouches.
We can custom print photographic quality graphics in almost any size and format bag.
Our minimum order quantities for custom printed graphics are low as compared to the industry and our setup (gravure cylinders) is also quite low.
Our pet treat packaging offers some consumer friendly conveniences such as:
• Press-to-Close Zipper
• Slider (Hooded & Exposed)
• Laser Scoring
• Tear notch/Hang holes
Graphics and Inks
We can custom print pet food and treat packaging from one to eight colors. We create some of the newest effects in printing including:
• Matte Varnishes
• Spot Matte Varnish
• Holographic film
• Metallic graphics
The first part of the process for a custom printed bag is to determine the how many bags you need and what can you afford. If a custom printed bag is a viable option, then the next step is to determine format, look, structure and size of the bag.
We can help with the all the steps above. Once the format and structure have been decided upon, we typically suggest a product sizing which helps us determine the size and shape of the bag. We will provide mock-up bags so you can confirm your product fits in the bags and meets all your criteria.
Once the bag dimension and sizing are approved we will provide our Pre-Press Guidelines and Design Templates so your designer can provide artwork on the template. We can also provide design services as well.
Once the artwork is approved, we will make the artwork press ready and provide proofs. Once proofs are approved, then bags will go into production.
This concludes are three part series on Pet Treat Packaging. We hope our descriptions of stock packaging, stock customization and custom printed packaging were helpful.
