We do not always choose our battles, but how we choose to fight them, defines our courage.
Today, after a long and difficult fight, PBi lost one of our own. Lisa Roberts, Senior Graphic Designer, lost her battle with Stage 4B Pancreatic Cancer at the age of 44.
Diagnosed roughly 19 months ago, Lisa did not want to be defined by her cancer, instead, she wanted to continue to work, help our customers, and fight quietly, without making her illness common knowledge.
It might have been a difficult choice to understand for some, but for Lisa, by coming into work and trying to have a normal life, she defied the cancer, she was winning the battle. Lisa continued to work for 18 more months, and finally in this last month, was unable to come in any longer.
She leaves behind a husband, her daughter, and her parents. She was our co-worker, part of our PBi family, and a friend. We will miss her greatly and our hearts go out to her family.
Lisa died on a Friday the 13th…she would have liked that.
